Providing you with modern lighting products, as well as efficient installation and management services

Emergency lighting is part of the fire safety provision of a building. It is the duty of the responsible person (and in the cases of businesses, this is usually the owner or a representative) to ensure that “emergency routes and exits requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in the case of failure of their normal lighting”, as per the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRFSO) 2005.

Simply put, if there was a power failure and everyone needed to quickly and safely leave the building, you must have a back-up system of lighting to allow people to escape.

There are two main types of emergency lighting; emergency escape lighting, and standby lighting. At Northants Testing, our emergency lighting team provide all the modern lighting products you would expect, as well as the most efficient installation and management services.

We start by conducting a survey of your site, and then provide you with a custom plan for installing the emergency lighting, as well as a breakdown of the costs. We’re able to do this across all of your sites, if necessary, and at a time that best suits you.

Areas that need to be considered for emergency lighting are exit doors, escape routes, corridor intersections, stairways and lifts, windowless rooms, and fire alarm call points, to name a few.

Of course, there are lots of different options available to you when it comes to the types of lighting that you require. We will always be unbiased in advising you on the best solutions to meet your needs and budget.

You will be assigned a project manager who will work closely with you to ensure everything is completed to schedule. You will then have a familiar point of contact for arranging any maintenance and testing of your new emergency lighting, as required.
